" The Workspace "
for Paint Shop Pro is the area of the window where you create and edit your graphics. When you open Paint Shop Pro, the workspace will be arranged according to how it was arranged when you last closed it. How you arrange your workspace will depend on the size of your monitor and how you like to work."Workspace

" Setting up File Locations "
is pretty easy. The reasons you will want to do this are, if you have Tubes, Brushes, Textures, and Plug-Ins from previous versions of PSP, or you plan to install all those neat new ones you collect on the web ( and believe me, you will collect, and collect some more ). Setting Up Your File Locations

" Installing 3rd Party Plug-Ins "
( You can follow this same procedure for other types of files that can be used in PSP; textures / shapes / frames, et. ). Third party Plug-Ins are plugins that are made by some software company other that JASC ( PSP ). There are tons of them out there, free for the taking, and I'm sure you will find them all. These additions make PSP king of the hill because you only install the ones you like, and the fact that somebody other than PSP made them, don't mean a thing. Installing 3rd Party Plug-Ins

" Capture Utility "
" Paint Shop Pro has a built in capture utility that is very handy. Capturing allows you to grab a screen, or a portion of a screen, or a Windows object, and turn it into an image ready for editing, and saving in Paint Shop Pro. " Capture Screen Utility

" Monitor Gamma "
" Gamma is an intensity transfer function that maps between the ideal color space in PSP and the color space of a device like a monitor, scanner or printer. If you aren't any wiser than you were a minute ago, we aren't surprised. The reason most people don't know about gamma is that they usually don't really need to know about gamma. "Setting Monitor Gamma

" Customizing Your Tool Bar "
" The way you work with Paint Shop Pro 7 can be customized extensively by setting the preferences available via File > Preferences. In addition, the Toolbar can be customized by adding or removing buttons (explained in detail in Workspace tutorial) for one-click access to all menu functions. " Tool Bar Customization

" Changing The Color Of Presets "
" Paint Shop Pro ver. 7.0 offers preset shapes that can be incorporated into your images. When you first use them, you might not like the default colors of these shapes. How do you change them? " Change Preset Colors

" Change Colors and Pattern Fills "
" This is where you set the colors, gradients or patterns you want to use as your outline (foreground) or your fill (background). " Color and Pattern Fill Change

" Installing Tubes "
Once you start installing 3rd party plug-ins, you going to find, Tubes will probably be at the top of your : seek and find " list. Simply put, Tubes are just pictures of anything at all, placed into a format that allows them to be placed onto a graphic in PSP. I'm very sure that after a short time, you will be making your own, they're a lot of fun. Installing Tubes

" Learn To Use layers "
This is a " must know " tutorial site. Once you learn to use layers, you're way ahead of the game.
" Layers are like panes of glass on which images, text, drawings, etc. can be added and when stacked on an image allow you to view whatever is below that layer through the transparent areas of the layer(s). These are similar to animation cels (celluloids) used in making motion picture cartoons. " Using Layers

" Using The .GIF Optimizer "
" When saving out images for use on web-pages, or to be sent through e-mail, you want to have the absolute smallest file size possible. The .gif format could be the choice for you. This format keeps colors sharp, and usually produces small file sizes." .Gif Optimizer

" Using The .JPEG Optimizer "
" When you are working with images with millions of colors, like you find in photographs, you need a file format that will support all the colors, but not be too big a file size. This is where the JPEG file comes into play. This is another one of the exporting filters in PSP. You will see a slight image quality loss when using the JPEG optimizer. The amount of quality loss is up to you. This cannot be changed...." .JPEG Optimizer

" Opening An Existing Image For Editing "
OK, you've created an Image, or you have an existing Image or Photo that you would like to make some changes to ( like putting that moustache on wierd Aunt Edna's face, or erase that giant mole on her nose ), how do you find it? Opening an Existing Image

" Working With A Digital Camera "
You got this brand new Camera for Christmas. But, the picture quality isn't exactly what you hoped it would be, or little baby Boo has a serious case of Red Eye. Better yet, you have these great postcard photos of the inside of the Excalibar Hotel in Las Vegas, AND you've never been there. Take your best photo of you, blend it with the Hotel shot, and tell all your friends how much you loved the trip to Nevada. PSP and Digital Cameras

" PSP's Tool Palette "
" I hope that this section will help you to understand a little about the functions of the tools and palettes in Paint Shop Pro. It can all be overwhelming and intimidating for a beginner, I know because I was a beginner too, and really hated searching for the answers. " All The Tools, and Tips

" Using The Color Palette "
" The first difference you notice when first opening Paint Shop Pro 7 for the first time are the changes to the Color Selection Palette. This palette is now used for selecting Plain Colors, Gradients, Patterns and Textures. This page will show you the basic features of the new Palette, so you can start using PSP 7 straight away, and be able to concentrate on the other new features in Version 7. " The Color Palette

" Beginners Animation Shop "
There's just to much to try and link to all the sites about Animation Shop. But this link is just what it says " Beginners ". It's an excellent place to start, and after you've been there, you can create your own animation, and thats a giant step in the right direction. Animation For Beginners
